A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER, ENIOLA

'God has called the Oasis a city of rest, refuge & revival. This is a place of meeting with the God of Heaven. It is a place of salvation & deliverance, of newness & growth, of obedience & purpose. The LORD has called forth a remnant that will partner with Him for Kingdom come in this generation. And our response is 'Yes.'"

Our Story

The Oasis started in April 2020, when 12 university students came together to study the book of Exodus. The WhatsApp group chat was formed on 1st April, 2020 but the Bible study didn’t begin until the next day, the 2nd (this has often called into question what the actual birthdate of this community is). By the end of 2020, we had moved past Exodus and there were now 25 of us in what had become a big, sometimes-rambunctious family of people just trying to work out their salvation as best as we knew how to. Our sessions were educational and really fun, each person always got a chance to lead a session, and we had added other things to the mix - praying for one another on Thursday’s, worship sessions, games nights, even an epic end of year awards ceremony.

Then, in February 2021, as we looked to God on what the point of all of this was, He gave the word and vision for the group and christened us ‘The Oasis’ - a place of rest and refuge, where He wanted to reintroduce Himself to a lost generation. Isaiah 43:19 rang loud and clear, indeed God was doing a new thing. We ramped up to an April 2021 launch, but God called it a “soft launch” so we did our logo design, set up teams and leaders, started doing Bible study in series, became far more organised, and had a private Instagram page to explore the world of content creation. So, 2021 was the practice year. We also grew spiritually, experientially, had many firsts and it dawned on many members that what they thought was just a jolly group of friends was actually a ministry, a land of spiritual labour and investment that God wanted to use mightily in our generation. Somehow, we found ourselves in for a lot more than we started thinking.

As 2021 drew to its end, God spoke, calling us to launch publicly online in January 2022, kicking off with our flagship worship event, Banner of Love, in February 2022. Since then, He has indeed taken us from grace to grace, and we are aware that this is only the beginning. We have grown into a community with over 100 members, convening events to glorify Jesus, fasting, praying, growing in wisdom, knowledge and stature, and most importantly, love - for God and for one another. This community has seen a ministry for men (CalledOut Men) birthed, the Oasis Foundation through which our charity efforts are expressed, our teenage ministry (the Oasis Blossoms), and so much more to come. On a journey of becoming, making several mistakes and saying “yes” when God called us to move, the aim wasn’t always clear. Admittedly, the Oasis sometimes felt like too much with limited justification, like stumbling through a path unsure of the destination but trying to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit, but we are glad that we sowed in faith and continue to, because now, we have a vision that is clearer than it has ever been - we are building God’s city in our generation.

Our Mission

Our Vision

The Lord has called the Oasis a city of rest and refuge. It is a place of abundance, personal & corporate revival, and refreshment. Here, God’s people are called to partake of His gifts - salvation, the Holy Spirit, and every spiritual blessing revealed in Jesus Christ to give us a victorious life on earth. As we come into these gifts, we are brought into a system of governance which is unlike the world’s - it is a system of laws written on hearts that involved the assigning of citizenship to God’s own order in our generation (“Jeremiah 31:33 - “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”). In this colonisation, we exist as an expression of God’s goodness, to bring glory to Him. Through fellowship with God and with one another, we are growing into a people that will serve Heaven’s agenda in the days and years to come, and partner with Him to establish His Kingdom here on earth.

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ (‭NKJV‬‬)

““Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.”

  • Psalms 46:4-5 (NLT) - “A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it.”

  • 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV) - “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

  • Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV) - ““You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

  • John 4:13-14 (NKJV) - “Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.””
